Transforming Psychosomatic Medicine in a Challenging World: Cross-Cultural Integration in Healthcare Systems

ABOUT
The development of medicine, particularly in the field of Internal Medicine and psychosomatics, has advanced significantly over the past few
decades. Increasing evidence highlights the close relationship between physical and mental conditions in various diseases. In addressing today's
global challenges, psychosomatic medicine plays a crucial role in understanding and managing disorders that involve the complex interaction
between the mind and body. Cross-cultural integration in health systems is very important, given the diversity of cultural backgrounds that
influence individual attitudes and behaviors in responding to diseases and their treatment.
Through the theme "Transforming Psychosomatic Medicine in a Challenging World: Cross-Cultural Integration in Healthcare Systems," this scientific
meeting aims to explore new ways of integrating the principles of psychosomatic medicine with cross-cultural understanding in health systems. As
such, medical professionals can be better prepared to face the challenges that exist, as well as improve the quality of care provided to patients
from different cultural backgrounds. This activity will be held through scientific symposiums and interactive workshops.

On behalf of the Asian College of Psychosomatic Medicine, it is my honor to welcome you to the 20th Congress in Jogjakarta. Since our inaugural Congress in Japan in 1984, we have been hosted by Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Russia. I have great expectations that this congress, under the leadership of Prof. Rudi Putranto and his organizing committee, will provide the impetus to drive us forward in an era where psychosomatic medicine is advancing scientifically and expanding to new regions worldwide. This event will bring together representatives from diverse backgrounds and interests.
The Congress will feature discussion sessions with invited lecturers addressing current issues in psychosomatic medicine over two days. I hope this congress will serve as a platform for new ideas, fostering connections among professionals from various backgrounds and cultures, and promoting the dissemination of knowledge in psychosomatic medicine to advance psychological care and leadership development.
Your participation in this Congress will offer a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of Jogjakarta.
